  • PROCEDURE

  • The ideal light sources for colour matching are considered to be the Sun and Sky, particularly because of their presumed colour consistency. However, in practice sunlight varies from 1860 K at sunrise to 5000 K at noon, and skylight ranges from 6500 K (overcast sky) to 28000 K (blue clear north-west sky). Thus, natural daylight varies with time of day, season, atmospheric conditions, geographic location, and so on.

  • Put the main switch on.

  • Set the time as required. Press the Set key, i.e. key No. 1 from the left.

  • Then press the green switch to count down the minutes.

  • After the set time is over, the tube light will automatically go off.

  • To examine or match the shade, select the appropriate light source:

  • 1

Light Source Description

D-65 The artificial daylight fulfils the need. All shades produced in all shifts can be compared under this light.

D-50 Produces evening light. Difference in shade due to different intensity can be easily detected by putting the shade under this source.

UV Tube light detects the presence of optical brightener in printing paper.

TL-84 Gives show-room illumination.
