PDI-009 Core Cutter SOP

1.0 PURPOSE

1.1 To establish a standard procedure for the safe and efficient operation of the Core Cutter Machine used for cutting paper cores to the required length.

2.0 SCOPE

2.1 This SOP applies to all operators working on the Core Cutter Machine in the Production Department.

4.0 RESPONSIBILITY:

4.1 Machine Operator – Operate the machine as per this SOP.

4.2 Production Supervisor – Ensure compliance with the SOP.

4.3 QA Department – Verify line clearance and process compliance.

4.4 Maintenance Department – Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance.

7.0 PROCEDURE:

7.1 First clean the machine and check whether the machine is working properly.

7.2 Fit the paper core in the core shaft and make sure the core is held properly by the check nut.

7.3 Set the size as per customer requirement.

7.4 Switch on the machine and apply pressure with the cutter blade on the core tube.

7.5 Obtain the core of the required size.

7.6 If the same size is required again, repeat steps 7.2 and 7.4.

7.7 If there is any change in size, set the size again and repeat steps 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4.
